Dreamweaver Stencils Christmas in September

All of September the Dream Team will be featuring all the new goodies we have for the "Most wonderful time of the year", the fall and winter holiday season. New stencil designs & new dies,  all to be found on-line through the Stencil with Style web-site, or your local papercrafting store.
Here's my holiday inspiration for this week:

Supplies used: DG692 Nested Stockings Die , DPP Pearlescent Paste , LG 692 Open stocking, Box from Graphic 45, Archival Re-inker in Potting Soil, Versafine Vintage Sepia, Christmas Paper, Die Cutting Machine

I started by cutting out the stockings.  I used decorative paper for the two small dies and used vellum for the large stocking.

The stencil was used for applying the embossing paste.

One of the small stencils cut out and embossed.
Medium stocking cut out.
The stencil pasted on the front of the box.

So I started by covering the mini tag box with decorative paper.  I made sure it was very secure so when I added the paste the paper would not warp.  I mixed a small amount of paste with one drop of the re-inker in Potting Soil.  I wanted the color to be more vintage feel.  I cut all the pieces for the stockings AFTER I applied the paste.  I then applied the smaller stocking to the front of the box.  I then took the vellum stocking I cut out and gently applied it over the paste.  The paste had set up but not dried.  I let the vellum sit on top of the paste until it started to curl from the moisture then removed the vellum and let the paste finish drying!  I wanted a textured effect on the paste stocking.

This is the final project!

Make sure and check out all of the projects today!  Start with Dreamweaver Stencils and check them all out.  Don't forget you can play along for a chance to win a prize!

Happy Creating...Kristi

  1. Fun and cute project! Love the stockings, stencil and dies!!!

  2. What a wonderful tag box. I'd love to see more pictures.

  3. Thanks for sharing all of the details, Kristi! Love the vellum concept, and how you tinted the paste! Did you use the Ranger/Wendy Vecchi ink for that?

    1. Yes Miss Pam! One drop of the ink tinted the paste PERFECT. Someone told me that ink would not work and you know me, have to do it for myself. So that other person was SOOOOO wrong! Love the look and will be doing this again!

  4. Interesting creation Kristi! Love the texture you got on the large stocking, very cool!

  5. ADORABLE!!! LOVE the peppermint candy swirl one!!
