Tombow Fun!

I am lucky enough to be working with Tombow on a fun project!

Since its launch in March, more than 60 of my fellow crafting bloggers have joined forces in contributing to this amazing movement in crafting and scrapbooking history. Each of their projects have contributed to Tombow’s goal of donating up to $10,000 in product to the Council for Art Education and have been featured worldwide on social media outlets such as Pinterest, Facebook and YouTube (Preview

. Not to mention, the campaign has been recognized by multiple national crafting media outlets, resulting in more than 3 million media impressions amongst craft bloggers. Wow!

So this is one project that was recently featured in CardMaker Magazine!
This card was created with double stick paper, microfine transparent glitter from Art Glitter, stickers and Tombow markers.  The secret is to burnish the glitter to make it feel smooth as silk!  It loves to accept the color from the markers!  It is so fun!

This is another card done with the same technique!  Love the leaves and add the Happy Autumn!
This is a Dreamweaver Stencil Pear that I used Translucent paste over then used Art Glitter while the paste was still wet.  I then let it dry.  I then colored the pear with the fabulous Tombow Markers! But there are a few more steps....

Base layer is done with double sick paper, stencil and glitter.
This is the Double Glitter Technique!

Burnish the Glitter WELL

Remove stencil and add your second color of glitter.

color with your markers

Replace stencil and use the paste!

Cover the paste with Crystal Glitter

You can leave it this way but why when you can add MORE color!

I finished this with some Graphic 45 paper and embellishment!

Hope you enjoyed!  Don't forget to check out all the fun products from Tombow, Dreamweaver Stencils & Art Glitter!

Here's what I've created for today's post:

Check out this week's awesomeness which includes our super sparkly guest designer and previous Dream Team member...

Kristi Parker (you are here)

I am so honored to be the guest artist for Dreamweaver Stencils for the month of September!  I will be posting every Thursday this month in conjunction with the cross promotion between the two companies! What a GREAT teaming up of products. (Use the code DW20 on the Art Glitter web site to receive 20% off your orders of $25 or more!)

The card I am sharing today is one that was just recently published in CardMaker Magazine.
Adding color with glitter and using stencils is a lot of fun and you have so many options.

I started with the Maple Leaf Stencil.  It is so lovely and you can do so much with this stencil.  I used transparent paste and while the paste was still wet I added TWIG glitter to the branch and CRYSTAL glitter to the leaves.  Once the paste was 100% dry I burnished the glitter a bit then used alcohol markers to color over the top of the glitter to make then fall leaves.  There are many markers to choose from so just play with the ones you like!

A closer look at the card!
Notice the accent by Graphic 45
Love the way the Art Glitter shines through.
Just another angel!
The sentiment on the inside.
Straight on view.

Hope you enjoyed the card and make sure and visit the Art Glitter blog all month and Dreamweaver for more wonderful creations by the talented design teams!  Happy Creating...Kristi.

Vacation Fun and Memories

As a designer for a few companies and in the industry a lot of time my vacations revolve around the conventions.  It has started to be a "tradition" for me and a couple of friends to hit Disneyland in January.  This is a fun memory box of sorts I made from January 2013!

So I started with a tray from McGuffey Woodworking and then used PPA from USArtQuest to apply fun napkins all over!

LOVE PPA!

Before Photos are added.
I then added photos and tickets.
Was a GREAT working vacation!
Love the Characters!

Little Mermaid was my FAV!

Of Course you have to love a man and his mouse!

Princess time in the parade!

Not a great photo but love the castle and notice the fun accents from The Robin's Nest!

BEAUTIFUL WATER SHOW!!!

A side shot so you can see the pretty paper and bling!

So this was a fun time and look forward to seeing the mouse again in January!
Don't forget to hop on by hitting the designer hop badge!
