Festively Distressed with Dreamweaver Stencils & Ranger

The Dream Team are so excited to have the opportunity to play along with some unique Ranger Products in the Tim Holtz line...specifically, the Distressed Embossing Powders! Our own Louise Healy demonstrated how fabulous these are with the Dreamweaver Sistretencils when she created this card for a fun class at CHA Summer 2012:

Apparently, Tim Holtz agreed with all of us on this unique use of his product, so he very generously had Ranger (thanks, Patti!) send the team some samples to play and blog with. So...here we go!

Here's my post for today:

Another fall card using the same techniques as was shown last week with double stick tape and Distress Powders by Tim Holtz at Ranger Ink.
Let me go over those steps again really quick.

1. Apply double stick tape to paper.
2. Soap back of stencil.
3. Peel backing off of the tape.
4. Place stencil, soap side down. to double stick taper.
5. Press stencil in place.
6. Sprinkle on desired colors of Distress Powder.

 7. Peel paper off of the stencil.
8. Apply background colors of Distress Powders.
9. Heat the entire image.

Layer your image!!

You can go back to my post from last week to see the steps!

For the next four weeks, on our regular Thursday posts, we will be featuring the wonderful things that you can do with Tim's Distress Powders and Dreamweaver Stencils. Leave comments on each of the team blog posts for opportunities to win one prize package for each of the four weeks:

Apparently, Tim Holtz agreed with all of us on this unique use of his product, so he very generously had Ranger (thanks, Patti!) send the team some samples to play and blog with. So...here we go!

Here's my post for today:

I started with one of my favorite stencils, the bare trees. (LJ849)  I soap the back of the stencil with the wonderful coconut soap.

I then turned the stencil over and placed it on double sided tape.
Next I used leafing from Dreamweaver to fill in the exposed areas.
Carefully remove the  paper from the stencil by laying the stencil side down and carefully pull the paper up from the stencil.  This will not bend your stencil.  Now you will sprinkle the Distress Embossing Powders in Black Soot over the exposed areas lightly, then go back over the black Tea Dye and rub it in a bit with you fingers to make sure the powder really sticks.
Shake off all the excess powder and heat with your heat tool.
I then set this aside and got out the "Autumn" Stencil (LM290) and added the solid gold leaf to the letters then removed the stencil and added Distress Powder in Fired Brick and heat.  I then trimmed around the words.
So the finished card...

Final Day for the Hop with Queen Kat Designs!

Well if you are not in the Halloween frame of mind by now, I don't know what will help! How fun would it be to have a party?  I used Graphic 45 for the layer and added my own information.  I then stamped the three "monsters" to indicate it is a costume party.  I used a variety of color pencil and Tombow markers.  "The Portfolio" by Lora Brier brought to you by Queen Kat Designs has been so fun!I love the detail in the images and makes it super easy to color!  I hope you use your coupon to get lots of great stuff!  See you next time!

This is a combination of Stamps ad stencils!  I also am still thinking INK!
The leaves on the background Penny Black and stamped with Kalidecolor Ink from
Tsukineko.  I then used my trusty Shiva Paint Stiks for the
stenciling of the background leaves!

I then used the "Sludge" style with my embossin paste.
I used my individual baby leaf stencil to glitter!  Stamp
and emoss the words and you have a GREAT
"Festive Fall" card!  Don't forget to go to Dreamweaver's

Time to get Cute! With QKD

I am loving using the stamps from "The Portfolio" by Lora Brier at Queen Kat Designs.  I love the way they look with Graphic 45 papers!  I also am loving the Tombow markers!  I think it is amazing that I have picked them up again after a time and they are still so fun and easy to use.  I also went around the edge of the kitty cat image with the Tombow and then blended it out!  Hope this was "cute" enough!  Don't forget to check out all the blogs today!

The GReat Pumpkin????

Today on the fun blog hop, we are all about pumpkins!  I used a double sided card stock and did some ripping before layering the Gaphic 45 paper over the card.  I then cut out some fun images from the Graphic 45 papers and then colored the cool pumpkin!  I love "ThePortfolio" by Lora Brier stamps! Again, I used Tombow for all my coloring! Even after all these years, I really enjoy a GREAT pair of scissors!  Check out the rest of the bloggers!
