Free Theme Thursday with Dreamweaver

It has been a very eventful the last few days in my neck of the woods.  I am very close to Joplin, MO, where they have now rated the tornado an F5.  This has been ranked the 8th worst tornado in the USA.  Please pray for the survivors of this horrible storm.  Stay tuned for what you can do to help!  These are two before and after photos from Joplin.

So I am posting a card....for the Dreamweaver Thursday. I have done a boot card today.  I first sprayed the stencil with Memory Mist and then layed it on the card stock.  I then gently lifted the stencil and it left the great faux encaustic effect.  I then cleaned the stencil and placed it back on the card in the same spot and used Pearlescent  Embossing Paste to emboss the boot.  I let everything dry well and layered it on the card front.
I used a small scrap of paper on the edge and then a cool ribbon I had in my stash.  It is a fun, simple card but looks like you spent much longer making it than you did!
Happy Creating and may this find everyone warm and safe.

Relief for Joplin, MO Art For Life

Hello all,

I personally live about an hour away from Joplin, MO. I am wanting the art community to band together to raise money for this terrible disaster. If you have not heard, the death toll is now at 116. I am asking for donations of anything. The sale/auction will take place right before CHA summer or following so I can get more items for auction. I am working on a certificate of sorts for you to display in your booth if you are a vendor in Chicago or if you have helped in any way. There will be a list of all people that have donated. There is not a donation that is too large or small. There may be some items bundled.

If you have items you would like to donate them send to me . I will be posting on my blog and encouraging others to post as well.

Please send them to:
Kristi Parker Van Doren
Joplin Relief Auction
3438 S Clifton Ave
Springfield, MO 65807

Many of you were so kind to donate for our kids camp crop and if you were not able to participate in that event, jump in on this one! I can hardly believe the amount of distruction.

Thank you all in advance for taking time to donate. Please forward this to anyone you think would be interested...

Thank you all!

Thursday with Dreamweaver.

Well it is Dreamweaver Thursday!  This is a free theme week so of course I have to use a pear!  So let's dive in!

I have become addicted to the sludge technique with the different embossing paste!  I did the damask design and the pear both with yellow/orange/pearl paste.  I had a little piece of decorative paper and layered it all on wonderful paper from Worldwin Papers.  I finished off the pear with a few little shots of GOOSEBUMPS from Tsukineko!  Pretty straight forward this week as it is 10:47pm on Wednesday and I have been working on my crafting garage sale allllllllllllll day!  Sorry folks, no Dreamweaver stencils are are being sold!!!

For those of you interested.  The sale is Saturday, May 21!  3438 S Clifton Ave...Springfield, MO!!!

Here are some pictures of the stuff so far and this is not even all of it!!!

There are stamps, ink, paper, cake stuff, fabric, embellishments, ribbons, lace, scrap book stuff and more!

Happy Creating!!!  Kristi

Dreamweaver Thursday - Blue & Orange Challenge

Dreamweaver Thursday is back!  This week is a color way challenge and we would love you have you play along and post on the Dreamweaver Blog!  I have a couple of cards for this week. I am also so excited to tell you about the two new DVDs put out by Dreamweaver and Lynell used some samples from the entire design team!  I am super excited!!!
These should be coming to a store near you soon!!!

On to the challenge!  Blue & Orange!!!

This was the 2nd card I did using the double glitter technique on the new stencil of Japanese Maple Leaf.  I also used the same glitter technique with lace for the back ground.  I used DoubleMates by Worldwin.  I punched the fun EK Success border out of the lighter side.  Tie a bow and put a little blue flower under the bow and there you have it.  I love the cut up stencil design to look like a window!

This card is made with the sludge technique.  The blending of colors on one stencil. I love the NEW apron stencil. I used a combination of orange/yellow/pearl paste.  I then let it dry and layered and layered and layered.  All of the solid card stock is again by Worldwin and is a Petallic paper.  It has a GREAT shimmer to it.

Hope you have all enjoyed this weeks installment of of Dreamweaver Thrusday!  Don't forget to start at the Dreamweaver blog and view all the creations by this GREAT design team.
