I'm Back - Dreamweaver Thursday

I am back!  I have been helping with a wonderful production of Hello Dolly at Evangel University and it opens tonight!  Woo Hoo.  Spring Break last week and I am finally here to do a post.

This is Dreamweaver Thursday.  It is a FREE theme this week which means you can post any Dreamweaver design to play along for a chance to win.  You just go to Dreamweavers blog and leave a comment that you are playing a long.  You always have a chance to WIN!

I decided to go with a classic style card using my favorite color scheme!  On white card stock I dry embossed the tulip stencil.  I used my trusty Wizard by Spellbinders for this.  I then used PanPastels to color the now raised image!  I layered my image on a couple of more colors, punched the edge of the base card.  The base card is DoubleMates two sided card stock so the lighter side shows through!

And for those of you who know me....this card is made completely without glitter or bling...I am thinking it is an off day! LOL

Happy Creating!

Thursday Dream Scheme - Free Challenge!

Well, first of all, HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!  You would think that I would do a GREEN card or something, OK..but it HAS to be a PEAR!!!
In case you all did not guess, I love pears.  I know, you are all in shock!  Again, I have a lot of layers.  The pear was created by using yellow matte paste then, after dry, going over the pear image with VersaMark ink and applying various Metallic FX!  When all was set I added some Faux Snow from Art Institute Glitter!  It reminded me of the "sugared fruit" from years gone by.

May you all have the most blessed St. Patty's day.  Catch you next week with another challenge and more great designs.

Don't forget to check out all of the other GREAT Dream Team blogs and play along!  You are only limited  by your imagination!

Happy Creating,

Dream Scheme Thursday...Play along! Color Way Challenge!!

This weeks challenge is a Color Way Challenge of Blue/Brown/Cream.  I did several fun things on the challenge this week.  Make sure and go to the Dreamweaver Blog to play along!
I think the key to many lovely cards is the layering.  I love to layer!  This card has 6 layers of the card then layers of flowers, a layer of different color paste embossed and glittered layer and a stamped and embossed layered.  Of course there is bling in the corners!  Love all the layers.

Supply List:
All papers are by Worldwin
Stencil by Dreamweaver
Patterned paper by Nikki Sivils
Stamp by Tim Holtz (Stampers Anonymous)
Embossing Powders by Judikins
Ink by Tsukineko
Flowers: various
Bling from Wal-Mart

You can see the background paste embossed design that is glittered behind the flower.

Then the same design paste embossed with brown glitter applies over the paste.
The words are stamped in VersaFine ink then embossing powder added and heated.  I like to tear out the words and the edge the top layer with ink.  I then tore the bottom layer.  This is double sided paper and it is a solid color core so the lighter color shows through!
Generic bling from Wal-Mart!

I also use a Gold Krylon to edge some of the layers to make them pop as well.

Dream Scheme Thrusday is here again!

I love when it is a free theme week!  Makes me not panic soooo much!  So I am going to try and share something. This PART of a scrapbook page using Dreamweaver stencils!  This is a sneak peak at a bigger project that is yet to come.  The rooster was done by blending orange, yellow and pearl embossing paste!  LOVE the "SLUDGE"

Happy Creating!

So Excited!

I have been writing for Scrap & Stamp for some time and recently decided to move on to other ventures in life.  I will be having articles from time to time in the magazine (Stencil Article In June) but had to share some fun news of some good friends of mine.  From time to time they give a color way challenge...well I have 3 friends that had cards published in the April issue!
The card with the birdcage is done by Joe Morgan:
Then on the next page over are two more cards.  A cool mask by Joe Rotella and pretty butterfly by Laura Sobran Drahozal

Just had to share!!!  Happy Creating!
