Happy Happy Happy

My new look!

I am so excited and happy!  As of last night at 8pm I have a new living room set to look at and sit upon!  This is the first time since I got married that we have matching furniture...I feel like such a grown up.  My creative space is very bright with yellow/green/orange and I LOVE it.  This is my favorite grown up color scheme.  I love the warmth of the colors and the crisp lines.

Many of you know that these colors are often reflected in my art and creative endeavors.  It is like many with comfort food...this is my comfort place now!  Below is  something I created in my same color scheme!
This frame will go nicely in my new setting!
I love the frames that you can alter and make your own.  I think this will get some 3D embellishments and then find a place in my new room!
I am a happy and blessed woman!

Thursday Dream Scheme - Sketch Challenge

This is the sketch challenge this week for Dreamweaver Stencils! Of course I can't do anything just like the sketch so i turned it on it's side and made the card more square.

I am thankful to have even completed this challenge as the flu bug has bitten me.  I was glad I had been working on a few things before feeling ill so I had a post.  In short..I used the double glitter technique with the dogwood stencil.  I also used the wterfall technique get the various shades.  Hope you all enjoy this very brief explanation.  Look for more next week!

Reflecting and such!

This is one of those days where I sit back a just think about stuff.  I am blessed in so many ways.  I love being part of a fabulous industry where creativity is not only accepted, but appluded.  I have many wonderful people in my life and I am thankful for each one.  I have some very dear friends that I trust beyond trusting.  How wonderful that people love you no matter what.  I have a wonderful husband and two healthy children.  I still have my mom and I love her beyond measure.  I have decided to embrace the wonderful people in my life and let the others that just don't get me...well...not get me!

Something that remains steady in my life is my faith, my family, my friends and my art!  I am glad many of you are along on this journey with me.  Never know what I will be doing next!

Thank you for just being you!  No better way to be!

Artfully Yours,
My sweet youngest nephew, Miles.

Encasutic Board Has Arrived! I love UPS

Follow my blog for more chances to win blog candy!  When I reach 100 followers I will give a prize!!!
UPS came for a visit and brought me some great products for Ampersand Art Supply!  They make all sorts of different boards for different mediums and just recently came out with encausticbord.  This is specially treated to really hold the wax for the base layers of encaustic art.  Encaustic art is made using melted bee's wax and it really lovely!

I was so happy to find the supplier for this great product and was also super excited that I met the wonderful people at Kandi Corp who have just come out with a great new encaustic wax and iron!  I also met Trish Baldwin who is the creator of EncaustiKits!

I loved the class I took with Trish and was lucky to take the class with two of my great Friends Joe Rotella and Carole Lassak of Create & Craft.  We got to play with some of the EncaustiKits!

This is Joe and Carole!!  How fun are they!
my first attempts at encasutic art

Trish Baldwin was a wonderful teacher and with my recent interest in the wonderful world of encaustics..well it was perfect!

This was a fabulous time and I am sooo excited to melt some more wax and play with more transfers.

Background Stripe..I added the glitter to the translucent paste and then applied to the stencil rather than glitter after the paste is applied! Love the sparkle!

Lock and key were paste embossed with black glossy paste then various glitters sprinkled over the wet paste.

Image behind the lock was stamped then I used Stampee Products to sticky emboss and add foil!
Hapy Creating...and good luck

Dream Scheme Thrusday! Valentines In Pink and Brown!

Ok, so the challenge was using pink and brown so I started gather the supplies I thought I might want to use.  Got out a variety of stencils, a couple of pastes, Shiva paint sticks, WorldWin papers, low tack tape, fun decorative paper from Nikki Sivils, decorative pins, Stampee sticky powder with film, glitter and some ink.  From there I started figuring out the base cards.  So I will try and give you a run down of products used for each card.

I stamped a heart image by on the base card with Encore in from Tsukineko.  I then sprinkled some sticky embossing powder over the stamped images and heated.  I then set this layer aside. This new powder from Stampee is different than previous powders, you can heat it up and then let it sit.  When you are ready you put the film over the image and run it through a laminator or use a craft iron to set the film.  (you do need to put protective paper over the the image before running through the laminator or ironing)
The pattern paper that the sentiment is embossed on is from Nikki Sivils Sugar Cookie collection!
I used translucent paste to emboss the sentiment and the heart.  I used two colors of glitter on the sentiment and just pink on the heart.  I placed them on a griddle on the lowest setting to help them speed dry.  While they were drying I punched the border out and put a gold edge around the layers. I finished putting it all together and popped up the heart and the center heart is a little embellishment by K & Co!
Now the 2nd Card....

I once again used a solid base card and then used another fun paper from the Sugar Cookie collection. I then used the wonderful Flourish stencil with paste and glittered over it in two colors.  I set that on the griddle to set quicker. I then started looking for additional hearts to use as embellishments on the card.
The final card....

I found the heart I wanted to use for background and used the Shiva stick in gold around the edges.  I also punched another border out and added ink.  I put the sticky powder on and heat embossed.  I then used some prism foil and ran it through the laminator. When all the paste was dry I added a very aged looking strip of Sugar Cookie distressed with ink and attached to the card front.  I added the border punch. I went over the love birds with Krylon Gold pen and attached to the prepared heart with dimensional squares.  Added a few more K & Co Hearts and Sentiment.  I like the way the card came out in the end!
I hope you all enjoyed today's Dream Scheme!  I really wanted to share several ideas and hope you each have a fun Valentine's Day.

Happy Creating,

Hoping To Have 100 Followers by Valentine's Day..Plus A Cool New Stamp Company

I am getting so much closer to getting 100 followers.  I am wanting to have 100 on the google following only.  Every one will be eligible for my prize drawings but really trying to get the followers to come back!  So..Please if you visit why not follow with a chance to win!  I will post the prizes in the next couple of days as I get that figured out.  There will be at least one Tim Holtz die.  Not the newest collection but the previous.  Also some cards and various goodies!

Trudy...I am so sorry...so glad you are my friend...I have a necklace to get to you...Problem is...it got sent to CA by mistake so waiting for it to come home again!  YIKES

In the meantime...these are a couple of cool designs from Animal Spirit Stamps.  I am pleased to announce that I will be designing for this great company as well as repping for them in Missouri and the surrounding states, at least the edges.  Animal Spirit Stamps are unique as each stamp tells the story and life cycle of the animal.  They just released the wonderful background stamps.  Sue also hides a ladybug in each of her designs and her signature is included as well!

One is a bit on my odd sense of humor the other is just one stamp done a couple of ways.

This is the Hare.  I used PanPastels to do a quick background then stamped over it with VersaFine Ink by Tsukineko and cut out the Hare.  I then stamped on Shrink Plastic with Brilliance Ink also by Tsukineko!

Stamped and colored in with various gel pens.

The Dragon ate the Hare!  YIKES

More from Dreamweaver

OK, I admit, and the Dream Team pointed it out even more...I am obsessed with the pear!!!  I love it!!!  I love the open area and that you can layer on over it.  I like the shape and I love my pear!!!  There, I said it.

Now, onto the other designs!  The rooster, rain drops, birds and damask are all brand new designs from Dreamweaver that are now available.  Also, in case you did not know, Dreamweaver also has the GREAT crackle paste.

NOW...for a couple of other people I ran into at CHA...

This would be Mario and I!  Mario is the go to guy for.......

Tim Holtz.  Mario makes the kits and keeps track of a lot and Tim is a very talented artist.  If you are new to the crafting world, it will not take long to discover who Tim Holtz is!

And this lovely lady is none other than Suze Wienberg.  Suze has been in the biz for as along as I can remember.  She remains to be a leader in this wonderful industry I a blessed to be a part of.  She is very generous with her knowledge and hugs!!!  And what an amazing SMILE!  Thanks Suze for just being you

Dream Scheme Thursday and CHA

Home from CHA and had a blast at the Deamweaver booth and meeting most of Design Team.  What a wonderful group of ladies.  So I am sharing a few photos and a card!

The card I am sharing today features the GREAT rain drop background and  free pasting along with Nikki Sivils wonderful new design.  The two go wonderfully together!

I started with a mix up of white glossy and blue glossy paste.  I made the puddle on the bottom mixing the two again and just moved it around until I got the desired effect.

Then I cut out the elements from Nikki's papers and Ta Da!!!!  What fun.  Love this stencil and the paper!  The rain drop stencil is going to be great for many backgrounds.  The Rain Drops are not yet posted on the Dreamweaver site but keep checking  as it will be updated soon!

I will be sharing more photos and cool stuff I saw as time goes on!  There were soooo many wonderful companies there and I did not get to take as many photos as I would have liked!  But still, had a lot of fun and met great people!  Saw some existing friends...(better than OLD) and made some new friends along the way!  I look forward to sharing!!!
